Thunderstorm Thursday

Woke up around 5:00 am to thunder and lightning and a lot of rain. As of now it's calm but we are suppose to have much more later in the afternoon & evening with heavy winds up to 60 mph. I guess, Spring has now arrived. Yesterday the gentleman that I call two weeks ago to do my lawn pull up 3 trees suddenly came to my door. It seems that he was out of town. He apologized that he didn't call. After some discussion, he'll be coming to the work around my home. Finally! Today we're going to watch AmyLynn ride the horse and because it's her last time for awhile, they are going to have a little party with the other girls that she rides .  Later in the evening we are going to Al's home to visit & play some pool. That's my day. How are you making out?

Thursday's Funnies

Granny was in her eighties and much admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. The pastor came to call on her one afternoon early in the spring and she welcomed him into her parlor. He took a seat while she prepared some tea. As he sat facing her old pump organ, the minister noticed a cut glass bowl sitting on top of it, filled with water. In the water floated, of all things, a condom.
Imagine his shock and surprise! And curiosity! Surely, Miss Granny had flipped!! But he felt he couldn't mention the strange sight in her parlor.
When she returned with the tea and cookies they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and the floating item, but soon it got the better of him and he could resist no longer.

"Miss Granny," he said while pointing to the bowl, "I wonder if you could tell me about this?"
"Oh, yes", she replied, "Isn't it wonderful! I was walking down town last fall and I found this little package. The directions said to put it on the organ, keep it wet, and it would prevent disease. And you know. . . I haven't had a cold all winter."

Boy #1: Hey! Didja know that my grandfather was once face-to-face with a panther? Boy #2: That's nothing! My granny was once face-to-face with a lion! It was drooling...coming closer...closer...
Boy #1: Gosh! What'd she do?
Boy #2: She moved away from the cage!!!

Grandma!

A little boy went to the store with his grandmother and on the way home, he was looking at the things she had purchased. He found a package of panty hose and began to sound out the words “QUEEN SIZE”.
He then turned to his grandmother and exclaimed, “Look Granny, YOU wear the same size as our bed!”

That's it for me this morning. I think I'm ready for another coffee. Have an enjoy day wherever you are. I'm hearing thunder in the far distance. There will be no golfing today. Maybe tomorrow.

 See ya.

  3. Paul, thanks so much for the laughs. It was dull here in Montreal today. I love the rain...and yes, thunderstorms, too. Of course I don't enjoy disaster, nobody does, but I do like a good storm, it definitely has its purpose. April showers bring May flowers. I love the fresh smell of the air when it rains, and I like the sound of the rain, too. Great post, thank you so much for sharing.

  5. Glad it stopped raining long enough for horse riding. Loved the granny condom joke. And fun cruise photos, although we try to hit the pool in the off hours when there are fewer people (during the other dinner seating is a good time).
