Freezing Sunday

 The Beauty of the Caribbean

Good morning friends. Last night we spent 2 hours in a cold arena watching our wonderful grandchildren skating. Cole just started skating and wow, can he skate. OK, he fell a few times but he got up and went again and towards the end of the evening, he was moving very fast and wasn't falling anymore. Emily had skated before and she was moving as a pro until this rude kid skated in front of her and made her fall. Of course her mother & father discussed this with the rude kid. Late he must have realized his mistake and went up to Emily and my daughter and apologized. It was cold in the arena but it was worse outside. It was below temps and vicious wind which only made the cold even worse. Back at home I put the firseplace on and just enjoyed the rest of the evening.

Sunday's Funnies

A Woman's Poem

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake,
He said my biscuits were too hard
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and
smacked him one
Like his mother used to do.

The Chastity Belt

In days of old, when knights were bold, this particular knight was leaving for a crusade and called one of his squires: "I'm leaving for the crusade. Here is the key to my wife's chastity belt. If, in 10 years, I haven't returned, you may use the key as I'm sure she will have needs."
The knight sets out on the dusty road, armoured from head to toe. He takes one last look at his castle and sees the squire rushing across the drawbridge, yelling, "Stop! Stop! Thank goodness I was able to catch you. This is the wrong key."

You know, the sun is very bright this morning but oh my goodness, it is so cold. I think I'll stay inside today & watch golf on my 70 inch TV. Have a wonderful Sunday friends. See ya.

  1. Glad you had a good time watching the grand-kids skate. It's a good thing for them to have sports to do.

  2. Very cold temps here, too Paul. Day started out at -7 and now (several hours later), we're only up to -6. A great day to stay home, indeed! Loved your jokes - especially the one about the knight and the squire. Bet that knight is looking to hire a new and more trust-worthy squire right about now. :) Hope you have a very pleasant Sunday and hope outdoor temps improve for both of us SOON! :)

    1. Marcia, I didn't realize how cold it went down last night. After checking it out, the weatherman said last night it went down to a - 18 F. Now that is cold. I've got my fireplace on as I write. Thanks for commenting. Have a great day and hopefully a little warmer. See ya.
